Smart Decorating - Make Organizing Your Bathroom Look Apart of Your Decor!

How many of you struggle to organize your bathrooms? If you have a small amount of hidden storage space, it makes it even more difficult. Here are some tips to organize your things out in the open so it looks apart of your decor! Roll your towels and place them in a big basket, metal tub or in a wine rack set on the floor or counter. Your bathroom will take on a spa look and guests won't have to go snooping to find a towel!

Here is a another great idea I heard to keep towels organized and looking great! Buy a cheap roll of wide satin ribbon in a complementing color to your towels. Stack a neatly folded bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth (or again roll the three and stack placing the bath and hand towel on the bottom with a rolled washcloth on top) you will then wrap the ribbon around the towels twice- like you would a present- and tie a bow on top. (If you decide to roll the towels, just wrap them once around the middle.) This will keep your towels tidy in a way that will make you smile when you open that linen door, keep them from falling over in the closet, and when guests arrive you can set them out on the counter or place them on the guests bed and they will feel like their visiting a resort hotel! Just save your ribbon and reuse it when you fold your towels!

Store extra bars of soap on an open shelf by placing them in a glass jar. If color or a special touch is needed, just wrap the bars in plain or colored wax paper. You can seal the paper with a strip of clear tape or add a design look by sealing it with a color matching sticker. All these items can be found in the scrap-booking section of most stores. Joann stores sells a lot of these supplies- while you are in the store look around you! You will probably see some great items to help you organize with style.

Bath salts or beads can be stored in a glass jar as well. The white granules will remind you and your guests of a trip to the beach, place a scoop in with the salts for measuring. Find decorative jars, boxes and containers that go with your bathroom at a local thrift or antique store. Use these to keep cotton balls, Q-tips and other daily used items. A bench with storage underneath adds an extra place to keep unsightly items, and gives you a place to sit while trying to paint those toes! If you find an open bench you love you can still add storage by finding lined baskets that easily slide underneath.
